About Dr. Mariam Karaman
Dr. Mariam Karaman is a Specialist Psychiatrist at Wellness One Day Surgery Center. She is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) and holds both Emirati Board and Arab Board certifications in Psychiatry. Dr. Karaman earned her MBBS degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sharjah, UAE, and is licensed to practice by the Department of Health (DoH) in Abu Dhabi.
With over 7 years of clinical experience, Dr. Karaman has worked across a wide range of psychiatric settings, supporting both adults and children. Her experience includes adult psychiatry, psychiatric emergency services, rehabilitation, and community mental health programs. She has also gained dedicated experience working with people of determination, including individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, across both inpatient and outpatient settings. Her work focuses on comprehensive assessment, accurate diagnosis, and differentiating between behavioral challenges and underlying mental health conditions to ensure effective, evidence-based care.
Dr. Karaman is experienced in working with children and adolescents, including those with neurodevelopmental conditions.
